Returns & Refunds Policy

1. Quality inspection before dispatch
Every brass idol goes through a 3-stage quality check before dispatch:
- Post-casting — checking for blowholes, cracks, and structural integrity
- Pre-finishing — checking detail clarity, smoothness, and proportion
- Pre-dispatch — final visual inspection and packaging check
Photo evidence of the inspection is available on request for orders above ₹50,000.
2. Transit damage — report within 48 hours
If a brass idol arrives damaged in transit:
- Take photographs of the package (outside and inside) before opening if damage is visible on the box
- Take photographs of the damaged idol in its original packaging
- Send the photographs to hello@deshna.in or WhatsApp +91 93586 85800 within 48 hours of delivery
- Keep the damaged item and all packaging until we confirm next steps
After verification, we will (at our discretion):
- Send a replacement idol in the next batch (free of cost), OR
- Issue a credit note for the value of the damaged item, valid for your next order
3. Manufacturing defects
If you discover a manufacturing defect (crack, casting flaw, finishing defect) that was not visible at dispatch:
- Report within 7 days of delivery with photographs
- Send the item back to us (we cover return shipping) for inspection
- If confirmed as a manufacturing defect: replacement or credit as in section 2
4. What is NOT covered
- Buyer's remorse or change of mind
- Damage from mishandling after delivery (drops, falls, exposure to chemicals)
- Normal tarnish / patina (this is a natural property of brass; cleaning guidance is in our blog)
- Slight variations in finish, colour, or weight that are inherent to handcrafted brass work
- Custom-mold orders where the sample was approved by the buyer
- Items returned after 7 days from delivery without prior agreement
5. Order cancellation
Orders for in-stock designs can be cancelled before dispatch with full refund. Orders that have entered production (custom molds, custom sizes) cannot be cancelled; advance payment is non-refundable in such cases.
6. Refund method and timeline
Refunds (where applicable) are processed within 7 working days of approval, via the original payment method (NEFT / UPI / cheque). Bank processing time may add 2–5 additional working days.
7. Return shipping
For approved returns:
- If the issue is on our end (damage, defect, wrong item): we cover return shipping via reverse pickup or courier reimbursement
- If the return is at the buyer's request (e.g., ordered the wrong size): return shipping is at the buyer's cost
8. Escalation
If you are not satisfied with our resolution, you may escalate to the founder by writing to hello@deshna.in with the subject line "Escalation: Order #[your-order-number]".
