An interior designer who specifies a brass idol is solving a different problem than a retail buyer or a temple buyer. The piece has to read against the room — not too small to disappear, not so large it dominates the composition. The finish has to coordinate with the surrounding material palette (warm woods, cool stone, brass hardware). For hospitality projects, the piece often has to survive years of guest handling, cleaning cycles, and occasional abuse. Sizing brass idols to the room
Sizing a brass idol against an interior is a question of proportion, not absolute inches. The rule we share with designers: the idol's longest visible dimension should be roughly 1/4 to 1/3 of the niche, console, or wall it sits against. A 60-inch-wide console calls for a 15–20 inch idol; a 36-inch wall niche fits a 9–12 inch piece; an 8-foot-tall entrance foyer accommodates a 24–36 inch statement piece.
Below the proportion rule, there are three room-by-room heuristics we have learned from real projects. Powder rooms and entry niches: 4–6 inches, single figure, gold polish or antique depending on the hardware. Living rooms and master suites: 8–14 inches, often a Nataraja or a Devi composition. Statement installations (lobby, dining hall, boardroom): 18–36 inches, custom mould, with a pedestal or chowki specified to match the floor material.

Design-grade finishes and patina options
The three finishes available on every standard design — gold polish, antique brass, natural brass — are not enough for most interior design specifications. Designers usually want a patina that sits between antique and natural, or a particular tone that matches a hardware specification. We offer four design-grade finishes for orders of 10+ pieces, each developed in response to specific designer requests.
Verdigris (green-tinged antique)
A controlled green-tinged patina over antique brass. Subtle — looks like 30 years of oxidisation, not like the piece has been left in a garden. Used for spa, wellness, and Mediterranean-style interiors. Adds 5 days to lead time. +18% over standard antique.
Smoked brass (deep brown)
A deeper, more uniform brown than standard antique. Reads as "burnt" rather than "aged". Used for industrial, brutalist, and dark-palette interiors. +12% over standard antique.
Champagne brass (pale satin)
A pale satin finish with a champagne tone — sits between gold polish and natural brass. Used for Scandinavian, Japandi, and contemporary interiors with brass hardware. +15% over standard natural.
Polished mirror (high gloss)
A hand-polished mirror finish — the highest-spec lacquer we offer, and the most maintenance-heavy. Used for premium residential installations where the idol is the room's centrepiece. +25% over standard gold polish.
Custom moulds and bespoke compositions
For hotel, restaurant, and high-end residential projects, designers often need a specific composition that does not exist in our standard catalog — a particular pose, a specific deity, a non-standard size, or a multi-piece installation. We open a custom mould for orders of 25+ pieces of the same design. The mould fee is ₹45,000–₹1,20,000 depending on size and complexity, and is waived for orders above 100 pieces of the same design.
The custom-mould workflow runs in four phases: (1) concept brief from the designer — typically a sketch, a reference image, or a written description; (2) clay master sculpted by our senior sculptor, photographed and shared for approval; (3) mould casting and a small sample pour (typically 2–4 sample pieces) for finish approval; (4) bulk production. The clay-master phase alone takes 4–6 weeks; full custom-mould order from brief to delivery is 12–16 weeks for an order of 25–50 pieces.
Lead-time expectations by order type
Lead times for interior design orders are longer than retail because design-grade finishes and custom moulds cannot be rushed. The table below reflects typical 2026 lead times from order confirmation to delivery at the designer's studio or the project site.

White-glove delivery and site installation
Designer-specified brass pieces above a certain size (we use 18″ and 5 kg as the threshold) cannot tolerate standard courier handling. For these pieces we offer white-glove delivery — a two-person team with a vehicle, scheduled appointment delivery, in-room placement, and packaging removal. White-glove is included free for orders above ₹1,50,000 to metro cities (Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad); for other cities it is ₹8,000–₹18,000 depending on the destination.
For larger installations (24″+ and 15+ kg) we provide a site installation service — a 2–3 person team that handles unpacking, pedestal mounting, levelling, and final positioning. The site installation fee is separate from white-glove delivery and is quoted per project; typical range is ₹25,000–₹65,000 for a 1-day installation within North India. For multi-room installations or hospitality projects, we send a project coordinator for the duration of the installation.
