Three Finishes, Three Markets
At Aagam, every brass idol is available in three distinct finishes. Understanding the differences helps retailers stock the right mix for their customer base.
1. Gold Polish Finish
The most popular finish across North India. The idol is dipped in a chemical solution that deposits gold-toned metal, then lacquered to preserve the shine.
Best for: Gift shops, general retailers, Diwali gifting, e-commerce sellers. Durability: 3–5 years with normal use.
2. Antique Finish
The idol is treated with a mild acid that darkens the surface, creating a rich aged look. Fine details are highlighted by removing darkening from raised surfaces.
Best for: Connoisseurs, temple installations, high-end gift shops, export markets (Europe and USA love this look).
3. Natural Brass Finish
Polished to a warm, matte-to-semi-gloss shine without chemical treatments. Will develop a natural patina over time.
Best for: Traditional households, Ayurveda practitioners, heritage-conscious buyers, buyers who prefer non-chemical products.
Regional Preferences
- North India (UP, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan): Gold Polish dominates. High demand for Diwali gifting.
- West India (Gujarat, Maharashtra): Mix of Gold Polish and Antique. Strong temple market.
- South India (Tamil Nadu, Andhra, Karnataka): Natural Brass and Antique. Traditional finish preferred.
- East India (Bengal, Odisha): Antique for Durga and Kali, Natural brass for daily puja.
- Export Markets: Antique finish is consistently the top seller globally.
We recommend stocking a 60/30/10 mix of Gold Polish / Antique / Natural for general North Indian retail. All three finishes are available at MOQ of 10 pieces per design.
